Black Beach, located in San Diego is a surfer’s paradise. It is an exposed beach break offering both reliable and peaky waves. The waves get even bigger when the west swell interacts with the deep water Rose Canyon earthquake fault. Due to cliffs, you can get rideable waves all around the year, however, to get the most out of your surfing experience, winter is the ideal time to surf. The surfing gets even more exciting when the right conditions align, which is a swell coming from W, NW, & SW and wind direction from E & SE. Surfing at Black Beach is indeed an exciting adventure, but, you should take precautions as the presence of rocks and rips can be challenging for you.
