Bundoran, situated in Donegal, Ireland, is a renowned exposed reef break known for its consistency and barrelling waves. The swells here originate from every direction, and it receives both ground and wind swells. It works best when the off-shore winds are from the southeast direction, and the swell is from SW or NE. However, when it comes to tides, it might become challenging for you to catch a surf break as it needs low tide to show its true colors. The waves can reach up to 2x overhead and form the shape of a colossal wall. When it happens, the left break vanishes away, but the right remains rideable. It’s always best to paddle out towards the bay when the waves become bigger, as surviving through these scary waves can be a tough job.
