Skeleton Bay is also referred to as Donkey Bay and is a great surf spot located at Walvis Bay, Namibia. It is considered one of the marvels of the world, mainly because of its potential for mile-long barrel rides. Its powerful waves make this spot only adequate for advanced surfers. The best swell direction is southwest and northeast wind directions that create powerful 10 ft tall waves. It is an advanced surfer’s dream and a beginner’s nightmare. For surfers, the Skeleton Bay waves are renowned for being among the longest and most wonderful left-hand waves in the world. Just a word of advice: be careful at Skeleton Bay, as slabs and sharks are the known dangers of the coast.
